quality
In 1997, MKM was one of the first machine shops in the country to receive a QS-9000 registration. Since then we have transitioned to the current TS-16949 standard for our automotive customers and ISO 9001 for our non-automotive customers. APQP activities are now a part of our daily routine that culminates into a comprehensive PPAP submission and continues with quality in every shipment. MKM’s quality system is also compliant to other government and industry standards such as AS9100.
MKM utilizes the latest statistical techniques, advanced data interface, and checking methods available to the industry. Adherence to customer specifications and dimensional requirements are top priority during all of the phases of the process. Our in house design and build capabilities allow us to go from concept to implementation of functional gauging, automated inspection, and error proofing in a short period of time. We have even developed custom software for real time inspection data collection to give immediate process capability feedback to our operators. From simple attribute gauges to complex CMMs, a full time gauge technician ensures that all 4,500 of MKM’s gauges are well maintained and calibrated at all times.
At MKM producing quality parts is everyone’s responsibility, from the newest machine operator to our most skilled journeyman machinist. We continually invest in our people at all levels; whether it is training a new operator to read prints or sending an experienced employee to advanced quality training.
